The Molten Metal Collection is my debut collection at Wilson’s Precious Metals, and it represents the beginning of my journey as a jeweller. Each piece has been handcrafted in our workshop from 100% recycled Fine & Sterling Silver and includes only natural gemstones.
This collection was born from the influence of a small number of jewellers whose work first inspired me to pick up the tools of the trade, committing to teaching myself traditional benchwork methods and techniques. I always considered these jeweller’s creations more like art than jewellery; some of their works were sculptural like pieces that blurred the line between adornment and expression. It was the desire to create this kind of wearable art that set me on my path, and that spirit is woven into every piece of The Molten Metal Collection.

I drew inspiration from nature, aiming to capture precious metals in their most raw and elemental state. Rather than refining away every irregularity, I wanted to preserve the natural character of the material, allowing texture and form to speak for themselves. Each piece is intentionally unrefined, designed to feel as close to its natural origins as possible.
Alongside the recycled precious metals, I’ve incorporated natural gemstones to keep in line with this collections original inspirations. I’ve included some behind the scenes pictures below showing some of the steps which went into creating this collection. To view this collection in full, please click here.

What does 'Fusing' in Jewellery Making Mean?
Fusing in jewellery making is the process of joining pieces of precious metal, such as silver or gold, by heating them until their surfaces begin to melt and flow together, creating a seamless bond without the use of solder. Unlike soldering, which relies on an added alloy, fusing uses only the base metals themselves, resulting in purer joins and often producing unique, organic textures that enhance the artistry of a piece. This technique requires precise heat control with a blow torch, and for ethical jewellers it holds special appeal because it avoids introducing foreign materials, keeping the jewellery more sustainable, durable, and true to its natural composition.

Creating this collection has been an incredible experience and I'm hugely grateful to the jewellers who inspired me to start working with gold and silver. All the pieces created in this collection are available in the Wilson's Precious Metals Product Catalogue. Please note, these pictures only show a small number of the products in this collection.
